These days, I am doing my best to build a new routine for myself. It is new, because of the war that continues to rage in this land and all the changes the war brings, but it is still a routine, an attempt to get back to normal life and to do what I am supposed to do this year.

My studies at school are pretty much a mess. Everything is changing from one moment to the next because of the uncertain security situation. There is a constant fear of escalation where I live, north of Haifa. Now, we are learning in-person at school, but until a week ago we were learning on Zoom, so that everyone would be close to their safe room at home in case something happened.

When I can, I go out with my friends to volunteer. Sometimes, we just help out around the city – clearing out safe rooms of elderly people who had old furniture piled up there, helping pack food packages for soldiers, etc. A week ago, we travelled for several days to do volunteer agricultural work. We were able to help out, while at the same time breathing some fresh air in nature, far away from home, after a long period of being shut up in our homes and in the immediate vicinity.

In addition, I am currently starting the selection process for various jobs in the Israeli army, while also going to check out religious Zionist yeshivas. Beginning next year, after I finish high school, I want to learn in yeshiva for about two years before starting my military service.

When I have time, I am trying to get exercise and to study history and philosophy, including research into the history of my family, which I really love doing. These are my main hobbies.

In conclusion, in these times, I hope and pray for the safe return to their homes of all the Israeli hostages from Gaza and all the soldiers after they have completed their mission. May we see better days.
