Reasons to Give

A gift to The Bronfman Fellowship is an investment in the Jewish future.

Bronfman is a springboard for the next generation of changemakers. We prepare emerging leaders to make a lasting impact as community builders, deep thinkers, moral voices, and cultural creators. We reach students and young adults at an inflection point in their lives—and in turn, they change the world.

Our Approach

At Bronfman, connection is the antidote to isolation. Our work is rooted in two core commitments that shape visionary leaders:

  • Positive Pluralism — the conviction that we can—and must—learn from those who differ from us.
  • Existential Torah — a curriculum of Jewish texts and ideas, traditional and modern, that engages the most urgent human questions—purpose, meaning, and moral responsibility—and informs how we show up in the wider world.

In a time of polarization and uncertainty, Bronfman models what’s possible when we lead with courage, curiosity, and care.

What Makes a Bronfman Leader Different

Joshua Foer ’99 (who, together with Brett Lockspeiser ’99, co-founded Sefaria): “Twenty years ago, Bronfman educators ignited in us a spark, a love for Jewish learning that made us the people we are today. The enterprise that Brett and I founded, Sefaria—now the largest online library of Jewish texts—would not exist without Bronfman.”We don’t stop at learning—we translate it into leadership. Bronfman creates space for open, rigorous dialogue, inviting fellows to hold their convictions while honoring the shared humanity of those who see the world differently. Our intertextual approach—bringing voices across Jewish history into conversation—equips leaders to engage honestly across differences.

Everywhere you find Jewish innovation, you find Bronfman alumni. That’s not an accident; it’s by design.

Expanding Impact to Meet the Moment

What began as a summer fellowship now reaches far deeper through four initiatives: The Bronfman Fellowship, Amitei Bronfman, Campus Commons, and the Alumni Leadership Network.

Recent events have intensified divisions on college campuses. In response, Bronfman launched our first major new program in 25 years—Campus Commons: Building Bridges with Jewish Wisdom—an immersive leadership initiative for Jewish college students navigating deepening divides. Blending Jewish text study with social psychology and conflict-resolution tools, Campus Commons equips students to foster pluralistic, inclusive campus communities. (Learn more about Campus Commons here.)

Hilary Caplan Somorjai, Board member and parent of a 2019 Fellow: “One of the most powerful aspects of the Bronfman experience is that it provides a space for real conversations, viewpoint diversity, and productive disagreement—something that is increasingly rare in schools and society at large. We believe that this is something to be nurtured.”

At Bronfman, we are cultivating the next generation of Jewish and civic leaders. Together with our community of alumni, friends and supporters, we are creating a future where leaders navigate complexity, embrace diverse perspectives, and drive positive change within and beyond the Jewish community.

Your Partnership Matters
