These are some examples of the types of people you’ll meet during our immersive trip to Israel on March 19-21. This three-day experience will be a meaningful opportunity to engage with young Israeli Bronfmanim living in Israel during this time of war – what makes them hopeful, what most worries them, what has helped them stay resilient, and what visions they have for the future.

Since October 7, we have worked to amplify the diverse voices of our young Israeli alumni, who have profound insights to share even as they go through one of the most challenging times in their lives and the country’s history. The goal of this trip is to listen deeply to these alumni; to offer empathy; and to start to envision, together, what it will take to build a sustainable and vibrant future going forward. How are these young people poised to do that, and in what ways might we as North American Jews and Bronfman community members help support that future?
On this trip, we will gain insight from alumni whose life experiences can help us better understand what’s happening across Israeli society, in areas such as:
Trip participants will be accompanied by Bronfman staff members, who will provide support and make room for discussion and processing of what we will hear together. The people on this trip – both the North American participants and the young Israeli alumni – will represent a wide spectrum of voices and experiences, as part of The Bronfman Fellowship’s intentionally pluralistic community.
While there are a number of mission trips going to Israel for the purpose of volunteering or seeing the areas in the South hardest hit by tragedy, this trip is distinct in its design – with the goal of accessing insights directly from young Israelis. We will be guided by the Bronfman pillars of Jewish learning, intellectual curiosity, and respect for diverse viewpoints.
We continue to check in with our Israeli community, offering care and support during this difficult time. Read first-hand accounts by young Israelis (fellows and alumni of Amitei Bronfman). We also continue to share these stories with The Forward, amplifying the voices of our community and helping to demonstrate the complexity and multi-faceted nature of Israeli society to a wider audience.
