Bronfman & College

The College Transition

Since the Fellowship year overlaps with 12th grade, we strive to ensure that Fellows’ involvement with Bronfman makes their senior year a more balanced and positive experience. We believe that each Fellow should pursue the higher education and/or gap year opportunities that best suit their talents, interests, values, and goals. We help Bronfmanim identify these opportunities by facilitating visits to older alumni on college campuses, writing recommendation letters as requested, and helping Fellows think meaningfully about their decisions and commitments.

Check out our Guide to Affording College.

After the Fellowship year, all college-age Bronfmanim are invited to attend the Young Alumni Weekend, which usually takes place in the Northeast U.S. in the Fall. Along with meals, learning events, and mentoring opportunities, these weekends provide the opportunity for recent Fellows to reconnect and bring the intellectual vigor and diversity of the Fellowship into their college experience.

Bronfman alumni attend a wide range of universities, and our Fellows are consistently accepted to their top-choice schools.

Although The Bronfman Fellowship does not favor certain schools over others, the quality of our program has been recognized by people such as Chuck Hughes, former Senior Admissions Officer at Harvard. In his book, What it Really Takes to Get Into the Ivy League and other Highly Selective Colleges, he listed the Fellowship as one of the programs which “act as filters for admissions officers to validate candidates who have been similarly identified by other organizations for talent and promise.”
